Sadie
Animal: Dog
Breed: Chesapeake Bay Retriever
Sex: Female
Age: Young
Size: Large
4/08/08: This is Sadie- WOW she is beautiful. Sadie has green eyes and is a beautiful chocolate color. We are not sure if she is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever or a Chocolate Lab Retriever. Sadie appears to have some type of skin issue that is causing some hair loss. So imagine how gorgeous she would be with a completely healthy coat! She really needs some funding so that she can go to the vet for a quick look- sponsors are you out there???
Christie
Animal: Dog
Breed: Chocolate Labrador Retriever[Mix]
Sex: Female
Age: Young
Size: Medium
4/3/08 - Sweet, shy Christie was found running on the highway with her buddy, Cooper (a male Boxer). These two must belong to someone, they are such nice dogs! If you have any leads on their owner, please contact us.
Christie is a Chocolate Lab mix estimated to be 12 months old. She is not very big, weighing 35+/- lbs. This poor girl is very scared, ad really deserves to be in a home, not in the shelter. Look at these eyes! How can you turn her away?
As always, the shelter is full and we need a loving home for Christie ASAP. She gets along with other dogs!
Hope
Animal: Dog
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
Sex: Female
Age: Young
Size: Medium
12/13/07: Hope is still sitting at the shelter awaiting her forever home. She learned very quickly how to sit for treats (who wouldn't!). She is so eager to romp and play, but needs to learn a few manners (jumps at times and can be a bit mouthy trying to gain attention).
11/13/07: Hope is such a special young girl!
She is approximately 6 months old. We rescued her from a shelter that does not allow Pitbulls to be adopted out...
It is not like we don't have enough dogs of our own, but our shelter director took one look at Hope and could not stand to give her a chance at the life she deserves.
Hope's previous owners could not understand why she wasn't listening to them....so they beat her...well, it was not that she did not want to listen, it was that she could not hear them, because she is deaf.
Despite her unhappy beginnings, Hope is the sweetest, most loving girl you can imagine.
Hope needs a special person who can teach her hand signals and other methods used with hearing impaired dogs. She does not belong at a shelter and would do best in a home with at least another (well balanced) dog so she can learn a routine.
Please do not overlook Hope because of her breed or handicap - this is one special dog. She deserves love and a warm bed!
