The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing timely and meaningful information and analysis of business performance to various clients throughout the business. The role also assumes primary responsibilities for submission, reconciling and reporting within Mars, Inc. Financial Information System (FIS)

Key Responsibilities
• Provide appropriate business metrics, including analysis, to help ensure that the business is tracking and improving its progress towards achieving its overall objectives
• Serve as a user of the data warehouse that brings together JDA, Ecometry and MANMAN information. This responsibility includes gathering and analyzing overall information from the data warehouse.
• Develop robust post-activity analysis to help ensure the business is continuously learning and improving from its past experience
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist in ensuring an adequate internal control environment as well as make recommendations regarding improvements of internal controls
Provide guidance to all areas of general accounting
Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required
Ability to train new associates and managers on related systems and accounting procedures
Perform other duties as assigned to balance department workload and backup.
Minimum Qualifications
• 3-5 years experience in the following areas: computerized budgeting and financial reporting systems, financial/business planning, multi brand financial consolidation and reporting
• Experience in working with various levels of internal customers
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
• Additional professional training in system applications/databases is a plus
• Strong technical knowledge related to systems, databases and reporting
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, problem solve, coordinate projects at an advanced level and recommend solutions
• Knowledge of general accounting – general ledger and financial statements
• Business process and information technology effectiveness
