I have a 1988 Jeep Wrangler that I got a few months ago. The plan was to drive it until something went wrong with it, then put a chevy motor in it. When I got it the reverse was hard to get in gear, and it finally went out about a week ago. I believe this happened because of the 2 inch body lift that was installed, and not letting it be able to get all the way in gear. Now I don't have the cash to make a project out of it. All the other gears work fine. The motor runs strong, and it has plenty of power. I think it might need a new belt because it squeals until its warmed up. It starts up everytime! This Jeep drives awesome and doesn't road walk or pull, even at 70+ mph! Everything works on the Jeep, all lights, blinkers, horn, windshield wipers and it is inspected until 10/08. I also have tags for it that are good untill next year(12/08). THE GOOD:
*6cyl.
*Heat
*Cd Player w/ Infinity speakers
*Tuffy Console
*Bestop Seats
*Steel Horse Hardtop
*2 inch body lift w/ GOOD 32" tires
*New Double tube front bumper
*Carpet
*Tags/Inspection good until next year
The Bad:
*No Reverse
*Rear main seal leaks. -Common on jeeps!
*Valve cover gasket leaks. -Just a little.
*Motor squeals when cold. -Maybe needs belt.
*4x4 is not working. The air lines that lock it in got burn't up or rotted in half. I am not sure, it was like that when I got it. The transfer case locks in fine! Harness just needs replaced.
*No doors included in the $2500 price!
THE DEAL:
I have a very nice set of hard doors for this Jeep. They have all the glass, windows work perfectly. They are complete with doors panels, locks, and handles. I just paid $800 for these a month ago! The buyer of this Jeep has the option to buy this jeep with the hard doors for $3000. That is only $500 for these awesome doors. You won't find many used in this condtion for this price. If the buyer of the Jeep doesn't want them, I will list them after the Jeep is sold.
