New York Road Runners Foundation seeks a skilled individual to join the program development team of our fast-paced youth services office for approximately 30 hours a week, with the potential to grow to full time. We are seeking someone who is able to tackle small projects on their own and to coordinate a team for larger projects. The job relies heavily on personal initiative as well as team work, and it involves a mix of research, writing, concept development, project coordination and general administrative skills.
Responsibilities include:
Identification and development of potential projects
• Work with program staff and participants to identify growth and improvement opportunities
• Obtain the necessary knowledge to facilitate a thorough understanding of what the project entails
• Research potential vendors and costs
• Present findings and recommendations to senior staff
• Assist development staff with drafting solicitations to fund projects
Coordination and/or execution of approved projects
• Manage timelines and budgets
• Oversee communication between all parties involved
• Develop or supervise development of project concept and content
• Edit and proof all project deliverables
• Develop and carry out project rollout and promotion strategies
• Work with program staff to introduce and implement new programs, products and policies
• Monitor and evaluate project success
Required Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree and at least one year of relevant office experience;
• Strong oral and written communication skills, consistently employed in a constituent-friendly manner;
• Initiative to work independently while simultaneously maintaining a team focus;
• Ability to relate to and work with diverse populations;
• Organization and efficiency, with proven ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines;
• Strong technological skills;
• Heart, humor and a commitment to our youth services mission;
• Experience with youth in any setting is preferred, as is experience in running at any level, including recreational;
• Any advanced computer or design skills are welcome.
