Do you feel that you are unable to move forward with your life? ·Do you have anyone you can speak with about how you’re feeling? .Are you HIV-positive and depressed? ·Do you feel you are always angry and engage in destructive behaviors and attitudes? ·What is the state of your relationships, whether gay or straight, male or female? ·Do you have difficulty maintaining relationships? Do you feel alone? ·Do you feel sad all the time and have lost interest in things you used to like? ·Have you looked at the factors influencing your decision-making processes?

You are invited to share your story. Depression is a debilitating mental illness that can cripple– preventing you from making well thought out, informed choices and behaviors. It is an illness that is curable and no one, no one should live in sadness and pain. It is an illness that affects relationships and is the root cause of a number of destructive behaviors and attitudes.

Confidentiality: As a participant in this research project identifying details about you or your story will be held in confidence and unless you give express permission will not be mentioned in the proposed book. Professionals are available to speak with you if the issues raised as you tell your story make you feel uncomfortable.
The researcher is a graduate of Baruch College, CUNY, with a double major in psychology and journalism and as a journalist has written on different subjects for a number of publications, including a four-part series on domestic violence: the third part on violence in same-sex relationships.
